Program FAQ
How many students will be chosen to participate?
We will select 20 students from our pool of applicants.
Where will the workshops take place?
The workshops will be held in the Innovation Hub spaces in Kingston and/or Cornwall. Notification will be given as to which campus it will be hosted on each month. For those who are unable to attend in person, we will ensure there are virtual links provided. However, we hope that with the advanced notice, all can come in person. (It’s really fun!)
Do I have to have a business up and running to participate?
Nope! However, we are looking for those with an idea that they’d like to explore so we can help you bring it to fruition.
Join one of our “Idea Sprints” before completing your application for help.
What if I win but can’t travel? Do I still get a reward?
If for whatever reason you are chosen and unable to travel, your ticket will be given to the student ranked next on the list of excellent pitch presentations.
You will still be recognized as a top-performing pitch presenter as well as receive a micro-credential for your participation (with proof of evaluation.)
Which micro-credentials will I receive for participating?
Micro-credentials are available in Business Planning, Financial Planning, Business Model Canvas and Pitch Presentation. Those who complete the required evaluation criteria are eligible.
Who will my mentor be?
We have an esteemed list of mentors from both in and outside of the college. These are faculty and business professionals that have experience in a wide range of knowledge and skills relevant to entrepreneurship. You will be paired with a mentor shortly after being accepted to the program and meet them during our introduction session in early January.
