Finding meaningful partners ensures all parties achieve success through cooperative efforts and collective learning. Spark, Enactus, and many other faculty are all a part of the Innovation Hub environment and help support the values and objectives of the space.

 
 

Enactus SLC

Enactus SLC is a community which is run out of the Innovation Hub. Focused on community-based learning, Enactus SLC is comprised of student, academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. The group engages students in a learning environment that challenges them to prove their potential through the application of business practices in the service of the community.

The team competes annually at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition to showcase how their community outreach projects and business ventures are making a real impact in Canada and beyond.

Spark

Spark is a full-service marketing agency which is located within the Innovation Hub. Spark provides quality marketing services including strategy, identity, digital and video production to St. Lawrence College and the surrounding community. Led by students and business professionals, Spark leverages experiential learning to enhance student development and client success.

Mayor’s Innovation Challenge

The Mayor’s Innovation Challenge is a competition that challenges students from St. Lawrence College, Queen’s University and the Royal Military College to develop innovative proposals to address and identified challenge faced by the City of Kingston. The Innovation Hub hosts a workshop every fall which provides students with access to experts in the fields of the challenge topics and provides students with the tools to put forward a strong proposal

Launch lab

Launch Lab is a Regional Innovation Centre and member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs. The initiative works with tech-based businesses that have an innovative technology or idea and a variety of new startups who are experiencing challenges and looking to grow.

Launch Lab utilizes the Innovation Hub space as a centre of operation to foster entrepreneurship and the commercialization of innovations to help build globally competitive companies in Kingston and surrounding areas.

Health Innovation YGK

The City of Kingston in collaboration with 7 partners is leading an initiative, Health Innovation Kingston (HI YGK), to encourage health focused start-ups to access resources to develop and grow in Kingston. Our health sector is rich in talent and resources, and has often been referred to as a “living lab”.
