What is the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge (MIC)?

Join us at the Innovation Hub for an exciting opportunity to learn about the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge (MIC). This unique competition gives post-secondary students the platform to develop innovative solutions addressing challenges in Kingston or to launch entrepreneurial ideas that can make a real difference in the community.

Whether you’re passionate about entrepreneurship, driven to solve municipal challenges, or simply curious about how to get started, this info session will provide the tools, guidance, and inspiration you need to participate in MIC 2025.

During the info session, you’ll:

• Discover the Challenge Streams: Learn about the two streams—Public Sector Innovation Prize and Dunin-Deshpande Innovation Centre Prize—and find the best fit for your ideas.

• Understand the Process: Gain insight into judging criteria, application requirements, and key dates.

  Open to all post-secondary students from St. Lawrence College, Queen’s University, and the Royal Military College who are interested in participating in the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge.
