Small talks with Big ideas: Exploring the Future with AXIS “Tech Meetups”

This month, we welcomed Enactus SLC and their awesome AXIS "Tech Meet Up" event. This month featured many great "Small Talks," where people give short presentations about things in tech that they are passionate about.

We dove into the incredible world of virtual reality (VR), discovering how it's transforming industries from healthcare to emergency response. Imagine training for high-pressure jobs in a safe, immersive VR environment – the possibilities are endless!

Next up, we explored the power of single-board computers – those tiny tech wonders powering everything from robots to medical devices. Their versatility and impact are truly remarkable.

The grand finale? A mind-bending presentation on the digital twin of the Innovation Hub! This virtual recreation of our physical space was like stepping into a video game.

If you have a cool tech idea you want to share, sign up here to give a Small Talk at the next AXIS event! We'd love to hear about it.

Enactus SLC Takes on the Bentley Challenge – And Heads to the Final Four!

A huge shout-out to Enactus SLC for making it to the final four teams in the Enactus Canada Bentley Challenge! This challenge is all about using technology to make the world a better place.

Cesar Hernandez, the leader of this project, has been working hard to create a digital twin of the Innovation Hub. He is aiming to show other schools how useful VR can be for learning.

Mark your calendars for August 7th as we cheer on Cesar and his team in their final presentation. A win means a presentation on the big stage at the Enactus World Cup in Kazakhstan

Want to see the digital twin and learn how it's helping students? Come to our weekly AXIS event, every Friday from 3 to 5 pm at the Innovation Hub.
